Abstract

The focus of this assignment is the issue of IT staff development with small groups, looking at a range of research in this area and reflecting on two cases of such work. The examination of the background theory highlights three key factors influencing the level of success of staff development; appropriateness, motivation and support. The analysis of the cases is framed within the context of these three factors, considering to what extent they were important in the cases and whether any other factors were also relevant. The conclusion contains conclusions from comparison of the two case analyses, and includes reflection on the style of working used and the personal and professional development of the authors.
